For the better part of the past decade, has been knocking it out of the park with their contemporary offerings. Watches such as the Black Bay, Heritage Chronograph and Pelagos collections have been flying off the shelves for their impressive looks, sporty construction and thoughtful price points.

With all of the sporty bangers in Tudor’s Black Bay collection, it would be easy to overlook their simpler, time-only offerings. With nearly-perfect proportions, vintage nods including their signature ‘snowflake’ handset, uncluttered caseback and a minimal, elegant design, the Black Bay also offers an incredible value proposition for those looking for a versatile three-handed watch.

In 2017, Tudor grew the Black Bay collection -quite literally- when they released the Black Bay 41, a larger sibling to the massively popular BB36.

This exmaple, a Reference M79540-0011, features a 41mm stainless steel case with a polished fixed bezel, ‘rose’ signed screwdown crown, sapphire crystal and a sleek silver dial (debuted in 2021) that sports a luminous applied indices, a matching ‘snowflake’ handset and a ‘smiley’ self-winding text.

It houses Tudor’s self-winding Calibre T600 equipped with 38 hours of power reserve and comes fitted on its original three-link stainless steel bracelet with a signed flip-lock clasp. Don’t let its refined look fool you either — this BB41 boasts 150 meters of water resistance — more than enough for any casual swim or recreational dive (with the assistance of a dive computer, of course).

In virtually unworn condition complete with factory stickers, we simply cannot speak highly enough of this watch as an entry-level daily driver.

It’s simple, robust, and yup ... timeless.
