Something is changing in the watch industry!

More and more independent watchmakers are making their mark on the watch industry, claiming their own section of the rapidly growing market. Alongside F.P. Journe and a few others, precious few makers have made a bigger splash than MB&F.

Founded in Geneva in 2005, MB&F was designed to completely re-imagine the concept of a wristwatch. Known today for its other-worldly designs and extremely complicated open-worked movements, MB&F challenges the notion that with watches, form follows function. Much to the contrary, MB&F always led with design, and that has contributed greatly to the brand’s success.

Take, for example, this MB&F Legacy Machine Split Escapement EVO. This piece may look incredible, but it’s equally mechanically significant. In order to isolate the balance wheel at the top of the domed sapphire crystal, MB&F used a massive balance staff ‘splitting’ the balance wheel from the escapement wheel. Therefore, the balance is visible from the front, while mechanically, the escapement continues to operate as usual. It’s a brilliant work of engineering, and the result is magnificent.

This model displays the time, date, and 72 hour power reserve on the ice blue dial. Each display is raised off the dial, which combined with the spectacle that is the floating escapement wheel, creates an insane, three-dimensional quality.

Outfitted on a signed rubber strap with titanium hardware, this piece is a mechanical work of art.

Looking to make a statement with an exclamation point at the end?

Throw this MB&F on and be prepared for the multiple, "Hey, what's that on your wrist?" questions to come your way.
